The head of an unknown insect. Basically, it’s a scary, flying thing from Mexico- something you never want to find in your bed.

These macro photos of insects were taken with a Canon EOS XTi with a Canon MP-E 65mm lens.

Mt. Rainier is a beautiful place. The photos were taken on May 24th, 2009- a popular day for climbing. I was able to spot 44 climbers- some visible as little dots in the above 2 photos. The first shows people near the summit, the second is near Camp Muir. I hope to climb it someday.
