Post Canyon Mountain Biking

Tuesday, August 25th, 2009

Images of mountain biking at Post Canyon near Hood River, Oregon- from Saturday, Aug. 22nd.

Beautiful view of Mt. Hood and the Hood River Valley

Small log ride

That’s me doing a downhill log ride.

Post Canyon drop

Riding off a little drop and putting my knee to the test. I was pleased that it held up nicely after my 6.5 months of healing.

I didn’t do this one. I hope whoever tries this has good health insurance.

Some more ramps of doom. Someone spent a lot of time making these death traps.

One of the 4′ high ’skinnys’ people ride on.

One more mountain vista on the way home. Ahhhh.

(Here’s a video someone made of riding at Post Canyon to give an idea of what it’s like.)

Rush Creek Falls
Getting to Rush Creek Falls was ridiculously difficult and I will never do it again. It was a 1.4 mile bushwack through dense forest. It took 2 hrs each way. It’s uncommon to have a 200ft waterfall not even shown on maps. Few people see this place and I now know why.
