Colonia del Sacramento in Uruguay is a tourist destination with quiet, cobbled streets, quaint shops, and a pretty coastline. To explore the town and its stretch of beaches, you can rent a variety of vehicles: bicycle, moped, quads, go-carts, golf carts, 3 wheelers, and other random things with wheels and engines- all apparently street legal. There are typically no lines on the road- people seem to just drive wherever, while generally keeping to the right side of opposing traffic. Some intersections don’t have any stop signs or lights- it’s just first come, first served. This type of organized chaos somehow seems to work, though.
